2011/2012 Prospectus Launch

Yarra Ranges Business & Tourism is the initiative between Yarra Ranges Regional Marketing Ltd, Yarra Valley Regional Tourism Association, and Dandenong Ranges Tourism.
This initiative represents the beginning of a more focussed and effective regional marketing approach, greater consistency of messages and a strong united voice for tourism and associated businesses in the region.

2010 Victorian Tourism Awards

The 2010 Victorian Tourism Awards was held on Monday 15th November 2010. The Yarra Valley & The Dandenongs had 11 entrants in this years awards.
Congratulations to Rochford Yarra Valley who won the Tourism Wineries, Distilleries & Boutique Breweries category, and to Myers Creek Cascades who won the People’s Choice Award for Service.

The Yarra Ranges Regional Marketing 2010/2011 Prospectus is now available.
This year we have introduced a subscription based approach, to allow all business to be involved no matter how large or small. We will also be undertaking separate marketing campaigns for the Yarra Valley and The Dandenongs based around seasonal themes and promotions.
The subscription for 2010/2011 is $99 and provides a number of benefits, including the ability to buy into cooperative domestic and international marketing activity during 2010/2011.

2009 National Tourism Winners

Congratulations to De Bortoli Yarra Valley Estate on their win in the 2009 Tourism Australia “Tourism Wineries” Award which was awarded in Hobart, Tasmania on Friday, 26th February.
Monreale Estate is Sassafras was also eligible to win a National Award as they won Hall of Fame at the 2009 Victorian Tourism Awards in November 2009.

Regional Marketing appoints new CEO

Mark Challis was recently appointed Yarra Valley & The Dandenongs Marketing new CEO and commenced in this role on Monday, November 30th.
Mark has been involved with the Tourism, Hospitality and Gaming industries for over 20 years; he has held senior corporate roles with Airlines, Hotels and Casinos, this combined with Marketing & Research consulting has resulted in a unique blend of strategic knowledge and experience. He has worked both nationally and internationally on behalf of major operators and tourism regions commercialising and marketing new and interesting product to key distribution channels. (more…)
Five Top Businesses Recognised with Regional Marketing Awards

Yarra Valley and The Dandenongs’ businesses who have demonstrated outstanding achievements and success were acknowledged at the inaugural Regional Tourism Excellence Awards dinner held last night.
Over 90 tourism operators attended the evening at Sky High Mt Dandenong, to celebrate and acknowledge the efforts of businesses and individuals during the year.

Yarra Valley & The Dandenongs top the figure for growth in international visitation

Yarra Valley & The Dandenongs tops the growth figures for Victoria with a superb 41.2% improvement 2008-2009. This is in an environment where our competitive regions have delivered negative growth and Australia as a whole has delivered continued falls of 9% annually for a number of years. Growth is hard to find.
Our organisations strategy of steady, predictable, reliable and consistent, consultative relationship building on behalf of the region with inbound organizations and in-market decision makers with a focus on making connections for operators is working.

2009 Melba Festival

The 2009 Melba Festival will be taking place on 11th-13th September 2009.
This years festival will be bigger and better than ever with 26 venues hosting 31 events across the Yarra Valley and The Dandenongs and featuring a range of performers from Australia’s best new talents to the worlds most seasoned performers.
