Earlier this month Colin Wilson, apprentice chef at Chateau Yering in the Yarra Valley was awarded the prestigious Thierry Marx Career Development Award.
Colin was awarded one of four prestigious scholarships to work in France alongside famed Michelin Star Chef – Thierry Marx at his 18th Century Chateau Cordeillan-Bages in Bordeaux.
And having spent 20 years as a fitter and turner, 36 year old Colin has arrived in the industry much later than most and plans to capitalise on this scholarship.

Next month the Yarra Valley and Dandenongs will be cast into the national spotlight when the regional tourism practitioners from around Australia meet to debate, discuss and determine the future of the industry at the 2010 Australian Regional Tourism Convention.
The Convention, to be held August 16 -20, 2010 is unique in that it is inclusive of all industry stakeholders – operators, local government, regional and state tourism organisations, federal government and researchers.

Warburton Cycle Fest

Held over June 19-20, 2010, the ‘shortest weekend of the year’, the festival marks the beginning of winter in Victoria’s premier cool climate wine region.
