2011/2012 Prospectus Launch

Yarra Ranges Business & Tourism is the initiative between Yarra Ranges Regional Marketing Ltd, Yarra Valley Regional Tourism Association, and Dandenong Ranges Tourism.

This initiative represents the beginning of a more focussed and effective regional marketing approach, greater consistency of messages and a strong united voice for tourism and associated businesses in the region.

For the first time, the three organisations will be presenting a joint membership and marketing prospectus through Yarra Ranges Business & Tourism.

Two events will be held to launch Yarra Ranges Business & Tourism and the 2011/2012 Prospectus

2011 Victorian Tourism Awards – 1st Time Entrants Program

Yarra Ranges Regional Marketing (YRRML) will be providing a prepatory workshop to assist 1st time entrants to the the 2011 Victorian Tourism Awards.

The application process for the 2011 Victorian Tourism Awards is now open.

The Awards celebrate and acknowledge tourism businesses and individuals that have demonstrated outstanding achievements and success during the 2010/2011 financial year.
This year, interested 1st time entrants in the Yarra Valley and the Dandenong’s are being invited to attend an additional ‘in region’ workshop along with the assistance of a mentor.
The session will provide entrants with an overview of the process and practicalities of preparing a submission for entry in the awards, help tips and important dates.

This year’s mentor for 1st time entrants, Erin Joyce – Lightfoot Marketing will run the session and offer advice and be on hand to answer all aspects of submission writing and the application process.

Mark Challis, CEO of YRRML will also be in attendance. As a previous judge of the Victorian Tourism Awards, he will offer valuable input at the session and also be on hand to answer questions.

Please note that attendance at a workshop is a requirement for those entrants wishing to participate in the 1st Time Entrants Mentor Program.
We would however still suggest, that if you are able, entrants attend one of the official VTA workshops on the 12th, 17th or 18th May in Melbourne – see VTA site for details and registration

The 2010 Victorian Tourism Awards was held on Monday 15th November 2010. The Yarra Valley & The Dandenongs had 11 entrants in this years awards.

Congratulations to Rochford Yarra Valley who won the Tourism Wineries, Distilleries & Boutique Breweries category, and to Myers Creek Cascades who won the People’s Choice Award for Service.
